Arc90 is looking for a talented PHP developer to join our ranks. We`re a small
firm of passionate technologists who work in midtown Manhattan, and we`re
growing. We partner with our clients to help them build game-changing technology
platforms, as well as have a burgeoning product/lab arm - we`re the folks behind
Readability, TBUZZ and Kindling. If this interests you, check out our website (

You definitely:
• Are a smart, motivated, focused person who can make great software.
• Shipping software is most important to you. You understand technical debt
and why it is sometimes necessary.
• Know PHP backwards and forwards.
• Can sling together a JOIN or two in SQL.
• Have an in depth understanding of programming as a craft. This doesn`t
necessarily mean a BS in Computer Science or anything, but if you`ve got
one, great.
• Can write javascript competently. You know the tricks necessary to deal
with the DOM cross-browser if you have to, but you typically leave that
mess to libraries like jQuery to handle.
• Are living in NYC or looking to move here.
• Are qualified to work in the United States.
• Are a good communicator and enjoy working with teams of smart folks. If
you`re a cowboy coder, look elsewhere.
It`d be nice if you:
• Are excited by the concept of coming up with something cool to share on
our Arc90 Lab.
• Are motivated by the power of ideas. (If this confuses you, take a look at

and see if it speaks to you in any way.)
• Are a little forward thinking. You`ve got an interest in the new things
coming from HTML5 and have played with some bleeding edge software. You`ve
got predictions about the web`s trajectory in the coming years.
Now, craigslist being what it is, we`re going to have to ask a bit more of you.
When you apply, please provide a few code samples with your resume. Some PHP is
a requirement, but beyond that, you can also just send along any work you`ve
written that you feel is interesting if you`d like. Python, Java, Prolog,
Whitespace? We`re language agnostic here.
